Where can I get trained to be an Qualified Marine Surveyor?

I want to inspect boats for people shopping for used boats. Is there a schools for this in the L.A. area?

there should be plenty of national association of marine surveyors in the la area.  they are working every day on boats and ships in shipyards.  call any shipyard or boatyard and they will have the name of the one they use for their business

do a search for S.A.M.S (society of marine surveyors) or N.A.M.S. (national association of marine surveyors) - these are 2 organizations that teach classes on various types of marine survey work.  You can also find a local surveyor and see if he will hire/train you.
