Where can I get what kind of engine I have in my boat by serial number? and what year it is?

It is an older boat and the engine is an inboard.

  1. Forget the boats.  Go down to the nearest junior college and sign-up for an English class.  Learn how to use capital letters, punctuation, and correct spelling so you do not appear to be illiterate.  When you learn how to write and are able to form a cogent question, come back and post your inquiry.


  2. First you should give us a bit more information eg 4-6-8 cylinders. V or Inline. Overhead Cam or Pushrod Location of Distributor

    Cross flow Head or Inlet and Exhaust on one side

  3. serial number will tell all if you know if it's a GM, Ford, ect.

  4. Check the valve covers.  If this is a newer engine it should still have the sticker.  The location of distributor cap can help.  How many cylinders, what kind of exhaust is on it.  Sometimes  just the color.  Serial number might be stamped in the block.
