  1. I do live in New Jersey and if I were going to take my family fishing I would go to any of the parks along the Delaware river right now. The further north you go the more scenic it becomes and the fishing is fantastic. I would consider starting around Washington's Crossing and work my way north from there all the way up to Worthington State Park. I can tell you firsthand that the river has a good population of small & largemouth bass, crappie, catfish, carp and stripers not to mention the kid friendly bluegills. The best part is the bugs aren't too bad in these areas compared to the shore. Tight lines!

  2. Well, I don't live in NJ, but I do know it will depend on where in NJ you are too. The best way to find out what you are looking for is to look at your NJ Division of Fish & Wildlife's website.

    http://www.nj.gov/dep/fgw/fishing.htm

It shows where all the spots are to fish in every county of NJ. If you are unsure of where is kid friendly, you can go check out a few spots one day or call the the local NJDFW or local Ranger's station and ask about the location. They will be more than glad to help you.

This site will also help you with local fishing regulations, so it's a great place to start.

Good luck. It's great you want to take your kids fishing. Tight lines!!
