Where can I go for a nice formal evening in downtown Chicago? Dinner, and something else.

I will be taking a girl downtown and I am looking for formal options so that we can both dress up and feel comfortable with the people around. She will be wearing a dress, I would be wearing a suit and tie. I would appreciate dining options as well as other formal evening suggestions. Please do not consider price when giving suggestions, I want to look at all of the options.

  2. I would recommend the Signature Room at the John Hancock Building.  Reservations are highly recommended, but it is well worth it.  As for afterwards, you have the whole city at your fingertips.  If you are looking for something romantic consider a horse drawn carriage.  They can also be reserved, or just caught near Water Tower Place.  They have different routes you can choose from and are moderately priced.  It offers a romantic setting just the two of you, with a tour of the city.

  3. If you're into authentic Latin cuisine, I would definitely give Carnivale a try! The food and decor are amazing. Check out their website for information:

  4. Maggiano's is nice, people where suits and dresses or go casual as well.  Search for some ballroom dancing to watch.  I forget the name of the place, but it's a good time if you or your girl are into that.  For the something else, find a nice hotel.

  5. Lux Cafe on Michigan ave....I love this place...I went for after prom drinks....beautiful and classy.

  7. I'll tell you just 5 star restaurents and country club steak houses i was surprised at the places  the selection hidden in your area that i took friends to but many are quite costly so i'd go and say i have guests coming to visit and my family has sickness so we want to go eat out so it;s easier on Mom.

Would you have a menu i am want to show to my girlfriend and ask her opinion,

Most have printed menus like in the deluxe 5 star hotels for their guests.

  8. The best view and greatest place to dine is the signature room in the John Hancock building.  Make sure you make reservations.  It's also a great place to go for a cocktail without a reservation to be on the 96th floor of an amazling city without even a cover charge.  Have fun.
