Where can I go freshwater fishing in West Sussex?

Question

I am looking for a stretch of river to fish for a day preferably for good quality chub, barbel and/or roach. I used to fish the Dorset Stour in years gone by but have only managed the odd day each of the last few years although I buy an annual rod licence every year. It would be greatly appreciated if a regular angler could advise me on a suitable water and where or who to contact to obtain a day permit or get fishing clearance for a day.
