  1. Research Valencia.

  2. You could try the Costa Calida,(Murcia) just south of Alicante,,where I used to live had many beaches  and few Brits,it was more of a tourist region for the Madrid Spanish,Puerto de Mazarron,,,,lots of places to rent with pools and a lot of old fashioned family values,,loved it,,,

    http://www.spain-info.co.uk/puerto.htm

  3. does it have to be spain (nee finances) why dont you try the states.  or go to aurba. id love to sit and listen to that delightful accent of yours they have beautiful white sand beaches and the weather...............

  4. Good question ! I'm keeping an eye on these answers.

  5. Head for Denia, about 45mins from Alicante.

Lovely harbour, boat trips and local tappas bars.

    I loved it.

  6. you should try the north of Spain: Galicia, Asturias, Cantabria, País Vasco.

this part of Spain is unknown for most of Brits and foreign people, and there are also beaches, good food (even better than in South Spain), tradition and history. For example:

Galicia: La Coruña, Rias Baixas, Islas Cíes, Portonovo...

    Asturias: Llanes, Gijón, Luanco...

Cantabria: Santander, Comillas, San Vicente de la Barquera...

you won´t find sun readers... i guess you are talking about going on Summer... if not, the weather is not as warm as in South, it is much colder.

if you go on Summer, you will like it

  7. It depends the period of the year you are going, but you might try the Costa Brave, between Girona and the French Frontiere. They have many small typical villages there (Cadaques, Begur, Rosas, Portbou, Llança, Platja de Pals, L'Escala). Rent a car there so you can go easily from one beach to the other.. this is very nice place to visit and you'll enjoy something typical, here a map of the area I mean: http://images.google.ch/imgres?imgurl=ht...

I cannot promise that you won't find english, but you find more "Educated people" who are looking to relax and enjoy the landscape more than pubs! The other area I'll recommend

The other area is after Tarragona: Cap de L'Elbe, tiene que buscar por ejemplo en L'Amettla del Mar, Ampolla and you'll have some unbelievable beach.. free of people or almost free (there are just one or 2 restaurants, but the area is so nice that you can just enjoy it!). Here is the map of the location: http://wwwa.urv.net/JornadasDeGerencia/m...

The advantage is that if you rent a car, you might enjoy many different places such as Port Aventura (Attraction Park like Euro Disney), Tarragona, and might even go to Valencia or Barcelona. You can move easily and the stay for your kids won't be borring. They even can take the train to go from one place to the other!

I lived 3 years in Barcelona and know well those 2 areas.. this is an excellent place to stay.. and the beach are amazing!

  8. Basque region.

  9. well even sun readers like somewhere other than places full of p issed up English yobs........ but what are you looking for, beach,  city break, there is so much choice, and when are you planning to go?  I would say Valencia is very beautiful, and i don't think too full!  the trouble is we are always hear about the bad places and not often about the really good.

How about one of the islands off the mainland, Minorca, or even parts of Majorca.

  10. Tarifa, its much much quieter, its a popular destination for wind surfers as its on the atlantic as opposed to the mediteranian sea. Beautiful deserted beaches.

  11. Hee hee, there's lots of places to go. Im going to Menorca this year, it's very quiet compared to some resorts in Spain.

  12. THe place for you to go is Santiago de Compostela in Galicia North Western Spain. The area is wonderful and the beaches are fantastic. You won't find many Brits there if any. I live on the Costa de Sol and I have friends in the Alicante area. Many places are great for holidays, but Galicia you will love.

  13. Mijas Pueblo - hardly any brits. nice little village with quiant little spanish streets, lovely. Its not far from fuengirola and Mijas Playa - thats were the Brits usually go.

Ronda is also a lovely place. Quite historic and very spanish, slightly larger than Mijas but not much. Cant remeber seeing a single brit there.

If you go a few miles in land of spain there will be fewer and fewer brits.

  14. your closet ******this way you can sit in the dark like the miserable weirdo you ARE

what a stupid question! your LAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  15. go to murcia it is super it has lovely walks a marina afew shops bars and restaurants not crowded and even a nudist beach for the brave ones

  16. Stay away from the Costa del Sol, and you will probably be okay.

Anything inland, less touristy would be good.  You will get to meet the REAL people, those who are not there to catere to the tourists, but are really living their own lives.

Ronda, Sevilla (stay OUT of the obvious stuff, get out into town).  Granada (same), Carmona.  Salamanca, San Sabastián.

Ooh!  Here's an idea.  Instead of all the ordinary things, find out if it's a good idea to walk along the Santiago trail.  You won't find a lot of drunk English folks doing that, and it's quite an immersion experience.

  17. haha i dont think you can dodge them, we get everywhere in spain!, lol but i went on my hols last year to majora, calas de mallorca was the place where i stayed and it wasnt at all that bad! as there wasnt much of a nightlife, yr u got the usual bars irish pubs, linerkers etc etc, but no nightclubs, so there was mostly families and couples that were there, a very pleasent place to say with 2 gorgeous coves, and a nice walk between the two over looking the ocean,
