My boyfriend has always wanted to get all dressed up in a suit and take me out to this really fancy restaraunt... but neither one of us has any idea on where we can go for that... I'm willing to go to a far distance away... I just need to find a place that has a dress code... one where we aren't the only ones wearing really fancy clothes... I want to surprise him with a place... any ideas?

  1. since society has lax-ed some over the years, dress codes have been loosened also, but you really are looking for fine dining, In toronto, i recommend the Harbour sixty @ york & lakeshore, in oakville there is the Omega, a nice place is up in waterdown called Lord Byrons, you will love the table side flambes there, in Burlington, Lord Nelson , Hamilton , for me the nicest place is Lopresties. If you havnt had a lot of fine dining experiance, dont be freaked out by sticker shock, you actully get alot for your money , and service far exceeds most comon resturants. If you go to the Hamilton choice, when making reservations request table # 12, or 16, you will have your ownprivate gazebo table, very romantic .... BTW, these places , you will be served mostly by Male waitors in tuxs..

  2. What city are you in?  The high-end hotels always have nice restaurants attached to them.  Look there, first.

Sorry, I don't know that area at all.  I did find the Harbour Sixty Steakhouse in Toronto, which looks good.  Most guys like steaks.  http://www.harboursixty.com/  Their dress code is listed as "smart casual" = suits and cocktail dresses are fine.
