I just moved to San Antonio and want a good, non-light polluted place to see the meteor shower. I'm willing to travel 60 miles or so outside the city. Any suggestions?

  1. I used to live in San Antonio. I would go west on US 90 or southwest toward Nuevo Laredo or Piedras Negras. That is where the fewest people live so the sky should be the darkest.

  2. anywhere it's dark.

  3. I'm in fla, so i don't have a clue, but i figure with zero answers after an hour, you deserve at least this--basically, anywhere is good outside the city.  If you can see stars, you'll see shooting stars.  Even inside large cities, many meteors can be seen during a meteor shower.  If you really want to enjoy the Perseids, go find a state park, put up a tent, cook some dogs, set out the reclining lawn chairs , have binocs handy (not so much for the meteors, just for looking around), and stay awake into the early a.m. hours when the show is best.
