I want to buy F4U corsair or a P51 mustang. I don't mean a model or a remote control, I mean the real thing. It would be ok if it was not in flying condition. just something to sit there and look at

  1. go to airports and ask around.  check out the ads in paper.  get aircraft magazines and check out the ads.

  2. Your best bet is probably posting a wanted ad and or looking for ads in upscale lifestyle periodicals a la the dupont registry.

    Good luck!

  3. http://www.trade-a-plane.com

    http://www.eaa.org

Expect to pay up to $2M for a flyable one.  For a static that is in museum-display condition:  $100K AT LEAST.

    Cash in that oil stock....

  4. Do you have $500,000 or more to buy one? That's what they cost in non-flying condition, usually 1 million or more in flying condition. Unless you can get one out of Honduras or El Salvador, they may have a few left from their war with each other in the 1960's, using those planes against each other. But not many left around to buy. Nice dream, though.

If they don't have some leads, you can go to http://eaa.org/ and look in the antiques and warbirds section for more information.

Good luck.  Both are very nice warbirds.

  6. Providence Fighters, they have a website.  Courtesy Aircraft, they have a website.  Barnstormers.com.  More links are on warbirdalley.com.

Flying models go for from 2 to 4 million nowadays.
