  1. The public library in your late mother's hometown should have the newspapers from the 20 th century on microfiche.   In fact the newspaper, if still in existence, might have reports of the crime.   I would think the Commonwealth Attorney's Office  would have a file in storage.  In addition the police offices of the state or province should have something.   Plus the medical examiner's office would have stored copy of the autopsy report.  1981 predates DNA testing so that would be a difficult route to take.

  2. if you know the city then google that city new paper then after you have the paper name then google that paper and your moms name it should locate it. good luck

email me texanf28 @yahoo.com give me her name and the city and other details and I bet I can find something

  3. Try NewspaperArchive.com it costs a bit of money but is soo worth it. I researched my great grandpas murder and got so much out of it. it was a lot easier than going through them at the library.

    Good luck

  4. Sorry don't know much about BC.  In Toronto you can find decades old newspaper from the Toronto Reference Library.

  5. A large public library will be able to help you.  (You probably won't find that information online.)
