  1. They I don't think can give you that info thats considered invasion of privacy. you should of done some checking prior to  allowing them to move in with you to start with.. thats just plain common sense.. but then again i wouldn't have roommates personally..

  2. Pectopah is absolutely wrong. You cannot legally get a background check from the police. Any officer offering you one would be fired and brought up on Federal charges.

Criminalsearches.com uses computerized public records of convictions only. The records they get are far from complete. Many counties and DOCs are not computerized or do not let their records out. Also the site reports such things as minor traffic convictions but the name of the conviction may sound terrible. An example I saw one for “transporting hazardous and terroristic materials”. Turns out it was a ticket to a truck driver during a routine inspection who had not changed the dangerous material diamond numbers on his truck, not a big deal but it sounds bad.

For free that is the best you get. P.I.’s and companies that need it pay big bucks to companies that do full research of all public records, computerized or not, and then make their reports, they do not have access to official police “rap” sheets either.

Most landlords pay for a credit check. The current thinking is that shows a persons personality best.

  3. www.criminalsearches.com  will show their arrest record.  For warrants, call your local sheriff's office and ask for the warrants division

  4. Hi!

that may seem like a good idea. There are several methods to get a background check done but the absolutely easiest method is to do a free preliminary search on the site below and then if the records show anything of interest just join CIS (records provider) and you will get access to the records in question as well as the possibility to do unlimited searches in the future.

It is not 100% Free but the initial search is free at least. Otherwise the only method that is free completely is to go through each state/gov/county office docs through all american states. Not very fun..

It is super easy and helped me a lot :)

  5. go to the police station handling your jurisdiction of residence.  It's easy, free and fun!

  6. Which question are you asking?  Where can you get a free background  check on someone?

Or can you get one on a roommate?

First if it is free, you may find that it is worth exactly what you paid, i.e. useless.

If you have not requested a written release from your future roommate you may be opening yourself to a invasion of privacy suit.  You do have a written roommate agreement, do you not?   If not --- you are foolish.

I suggest that you get one done on yourself first to see how accurate the information is from any free resource.  I would also ascertain for how long the supplier of these data will retain the information that you supply and to whom they will share it.

Remember each time you seek information, you are given away valuable information about yourself and your family.

  7. no you cant get a background check on another person.

the only people who can are landlords (i think) and businesses.

  8. Try searching their public records! http://www.crimcheck.com has an extensive public records database you can use for free! Hope this is helpful!

  9. There are no free sites and your local police WILL NOT release a criminal history report.

You need to hire a Private Investigator to do this for you.

    That's probably the only way.
