Where can I go to watch the Perseid Meteor shower on Aug. 12, 2008 in Las Vegas?

I am located near I-215 and I-15 in Las Vegas, NV. It's way too light polluted in this area so I was wondering where would be a good place to go. I'm willing to drive, but please do not suggest somewhere really far! Also, which direction would I have to look and where is the radiant?

Take Blue Diamond Road past Blue Diamond and Spring Mountain Ranch.  There's a scenic overlook on your left.  You can park there and it's probably far enough out to see some meteors if you look away from the city lights.

Valley of Fire would be good too, but that's pretty far.

How about Mt Charlston?  Or drive over to Pahrump.
