It's a long shot I know. But try as I might I can find nowhere in the south of England that offers a training course in Brazing apart from courses geared to industrial refrigeration. All I want to do is make my own bicycle frame. Can anyone over here can help? Thanks

  1. Brazing is very easy,it will only take a few mins to learn.Have a go your self. You need oxy/acetelene set and brazing rod,the rod with flux.Warm the steel up to a dull red in the area you wish to braze and keeping the flame on the work apply the rod,the bronze will flow where the metal is heated. Then practice, and more practice.Go to your local garage and ask the mechanic for a demo. Its too easy, good luck

  2. Does a local technical college have an engineering dept, sniff around there and I'm sure you'll get some help. Maybe a night class in metalwork/welding something like that. Brazing isn't that difficult to do but like most things a bit of expertise helps, you could just get the necessary and give it a go.
