  1. depends wher you live.

Look and see what is yoru local community college and they have weekly dancing lessons that do not cost a lot of money and run for 8 weeks (usually over a school term)

they are fun and a GREAT way to meet new people.

They have many different styles of dancing lessons ranging from hip hop to salsa to belly dancing to ball room dancing.

    check it out

  2. You can learn to belly dance at a few places. Try Hathor Dance Studio at Glebe, Newtown, Parramatta, St Marys and Cammeray or Danse Orientale at the City Dance Centre, 161 Castlereagh St, Sydney.

For Salsa, try Salsa Republic near Central Station (also casual classes in North Sydney)

  3. In a g*y club

  4. There are a few dance schools in Sydney, probably very popular places at the moment with the huge success of Dancing With the Stars... Try these two near the city...

Dance Central (268 Cleveland St, Surry Hills) runs 50 dance classes a week in a range of styles (funk, hip-hop, breakdance, salsa, samba, Polynesian, African, bellydance, burlesque and more). Casual classes are $16.

Step Up Dance Studio (Level 1, 160 Castlereagh Street, CBD) has group and private lessons in Ballroom and Latin dancing and also covers hip-hop, jazz, funk, krump and salsa.

  5. In the streets.

  6. there is a place in cambletown, sydney called steps 2 stardom a link is included with contact details, they have classes in hip hop and funk as well as othrer styles.

  7. My favourite classes have always been the open adult classes at the Sydney Dance Company.  My favourite teacher there who does Jazz classes is Ramon Doringo. He is a little bit of a celebrity, having been a judge on the ABCs dance competition and choreography for the Olympics, among other events.

But for Latin styles I go to a specialised schools. My favouries are:

    1. Latin Motion - The biggest and I think best in Aust.  You get really great and innovative technique and styling.  You can be taught by World Salsa Champions and also Luda Kroiter who recently worked with Kostya to come 2nd on Dancing with the Stars.

They also do classes in Mambo, Samba, Lambada, Bachatta, Cha Cha, Latin Fitness and many other including a range of fitness and cardio style classes such as Latin Fitness, Body Tonning, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop and Swing.

    2. LDA - Also an extremely good school that is the second biggest in Aust. Started by a Brazilian, so on top of fantastic salsa classes, you get probably the best samba training in Australia.  They also teach zouk, capoeira, lambada, cha cha, rueda and shines.

You will need to try the schools out for yourself because you will prefer one or the other.

  8. Theres a dance school cnr park an princes hway Kogarah Bay upstairs

  9. My ex used to go to a dance school down on the finger wharves near the rocks, under the harbour bridge, can't recall the name but she said it was fantastic, did stuff like modern jazz, ballet, contemporary etc
