I recently moved to West Palm Beach Florida and I want to learn how to surf. I am contemplating Surf Camp in Cocoa Beach but was hoping that there was something closer that I could do on a regular basis.

oh yeah and I have never surfed before.

  1. The Ocean

  2. Go Away and never talk about surfing again. You are an insult to our way of life.  You want it to be easy.  You feel (thank you SURFING MAG) ENTITLED!  I learned how to surf on a cracked, used board alone when i was five.

I am now 14 and you people, with your surf camps and funboards, are the sole thing i hate most.  Go garbage pick an old shortboard, learn how to surf yourself. Then think about talking to me.

Then, snap a board in epic conditions, get another one, and punt an air.  Then come sit down and we can a nice chat.

  3. i live in west palm beach. i do not know if you know over the bridges you can go to the islandd (palm beach island) and start learning there. check www.weather.com to make sure that there are no rift currents the day that you want to go. i do not know if you know where north dixie highway is but if you are comming from the corner of palm beach lakes blvd take a right onto north dixie, then go straight until you hit the first light. take a right. go over the bridge keep going straight all the way until you hit the end of that street take a right then go three lights down and take a left. it will lead you to this winding road but as soon as you turn that curve you will be where the beach is. there is parking every where. if you want something more private then that go over the bridge like i said take a left once you hit the light at the second light take a right down that road and you will see the entrance to the beach. there is not always parking avaiable there but usually on most days you will see it. the waves are not huge but i suggest that you learn on the smaller waves before you take on the bigger ones.
