why wont you go for a little while in quebec....or you can alwyas try " st pierre a miquelon" french territorie on the coast of labrador, in ontario, west indies, guyana...even new orlean still own a little french communotie....that's pretty much it///

You main other than by getting a tape/CD etc.?

There are plenty of places you can stay where French is one of the languages if not the main language.

In Europe:  Belgium, Luxembourg, part of Switzerland.

In North America: Quebec, some neighbourhoods in Louisiana.

In Africa: Ivory Coast, Guinea, Mali, Senegal, Central African Republic, Congo (both of them), Cameroon, Gabon and  a few others.

In the Carribean: Guadeloupe, Haiti

In South America: French Guyana

Indian Ocean: Madagascar, Comoros Islands, Mayotte, Reunion Island.

Oh, and I nearly forgot. The three North African countries of Tunisia, Morocco and Algeria.

There are a few more exotic and out of the way places too. Like Tahiti and New Caledonia.

Plenty of places to have a great time and learn the lingo.

An advantage of learning somewhere other than France is that you will pick up a bit of an accent. Then, when you talk to French people or people, or people from other French-speaking countries, they will have a hard time placing you.

If you want to travel and learn French, you should choose a country in which French is the official language. There are many countries. If you want to stay at home, you can buy french books, try to listenning french songs I'm sure you can have lyrics on the internet. You also can watch films with subtitles. You can go to Quebec but the accent is not the same, it might be difficult.

Check out Alliance Francaise.  They have a huge presence all over the US, and probably everywhere.  You can learn French there -- they've got classes for all ages, plus informal activities like going to dinner with other French learners and native French speakers to help you practice.
