Highway, city/town streets, backroads, etc. This is assuming I meet any/all requirements for owning a horse and riding one.

  1. riding ranges

  2. Remember cities all have zoning laws.  You first need to check if you are in a zone that allows horses.  You may also have to get a permit.  Some cities do not allow horse riding.  You will have to check with local police about the rules.  Some cities are trails only.

  3. anywhere buy the roadways and sidewalks and private property that is not yours! other than that... free game.. In some parks its illegle.. call you local police dept and ask!

DONT USE 911.. look it up!

  4. Benson NC "Mules Days" ride all around town for the weekend and there will be ALOT more with you. It's in September around the 25th through 28th .

  5. depending on your city, county, state you may need a parade permit to ride near a road

...call the city manager's office and ask

....it seems your question is where you are allowed to ride legally

...and you are not asking how to care for a horse...or what a horse is

....oh well, we ask, like hay in one end and ....out the other

...just ask the city about the zoning ordinances governing the presence of farm animals, horses, (or your big bramah bull that you like to ride on Sundays wearing a big ten gallon hat)

...the city zoning ordinaces will guide your best interests in this matter

  6. Ok....look for an answer about riding horses--from someone who rides horses...not from unhelpful guesses.

If you want to ride--and you really want to learn--understand that riding-whether Western-or English-- it's a partnership between you and an animal that weighs over 1000 lbs...so it's important to know HOW..A horse is an expensive animal to take care of..you'll need lots of equipment--and need to know how to use them.. a Saddle, Bridle, Halter, lead ropes, hoof pick, curry comb, brushes grain, hay, vitamins, vaccinations, Vet Bills, bedding--will you use straw or sawdust?  If you use sawdust as we do-- you should know some wood and leaves are poisonous..And what kind of Bit for your horse's bridle--different ones have different uses

Horses are big strong beautiful animals--but they can be fragile as well..If you feed them something different--or they have to wait to be fed late--they can colic..and die a painful horrible death..And if you don;t know how to take care of the hose--or ride correctly-you can risk your life as well.

Here's what you should do...take classes-learn from someone who gives riding lessons..Too find someone who'd be good--Get out your phone book--call and ask a A Large/Small Animal Veterinarian for recommendations..or a blacksmith..or call a stable and ask for Riding Lessons...

If you take lessons--you will be stating out as a good Horsemen..because you will be protecting yourself--and the horse by learning what you need to do. Plus--buy taking riding lessons--you are skipping the step of having  to buy all that expensive stuff..! Wait until you are ready and finding out if you really want a horse before you invest time effort and money.

There are things you learn in riding lessons you never wild have guessed..I really recommend lessons! Learn at a barn that YOU saddle and bridle..and learn how to clean out a stall--and why. There's more to good horsemanship than riding a horse--it's the taking care of them, too,.

    It's a lot of work, exercise--and a lot of rewards...have fun..!

  8. Here in Ohio you can drive a horse-drawn carriage on any public road except those posted with signs that forbid animals--that is, freeways.  We live on an ordinary street and the local Amish families often rattle down it in their carts on the way to our farmers' market.  I believe that the same rules apply to horseback riding.  Horses were never made illegal when cars were adopted.  You have to obey all traffic rules, too.
