Is there an unemployment office anywhere nearby? I need to pay rent and no one calls me back whenever I apply. I'm a poor college student lacking experience, so none of the jobs want me. My current place of employment just told me they are closing down in 2 weeks and I'm on my own. : (

I'm proficient in microsoft office, so I'm qualified for non-college degree technical work.

As you look for new work, I hope you are making use of your college's placement office.  If not, that should be your first stop.  In addition, you are an ideal candidate (proficient in MS Office, some college background) to work through a temp agency.  There are several in the Montgomery County area, including Rockville.  And of course there are others in DC.  Look in the phone book for employment agencies-temporary.

I hope this helps.  Good luck!!
