Im a high school student (17) in NY and I need a checking account that is free, has no minimum balance, no fees, no requirements to keep your account (such as a direct deposit each month), and does not have to be linked to another account in order to open. What bank has this

  1. Almost any bank will give you a student account that is totally free to try and get you hooked into banking with them forever.

  2. If you have a WAMU..or Washington Mutual..they are GREAT!  The dont require direct deposit..no min. amount to keep the account open, they have one free waiver a year on the OD fee..free checks for life..I have banked with them for years..I think I was a junior in highschool when I opened my account..with the 10 bucks I had in my pocket..GOOD LUCK!!

  3. We have that with Washington Mutual.

  4. Around PA most bank with National City if that's possible for you.

  5. Go with Washington Mutual.

  6. washington mutual

  7. FOR MY DAD IT DEPENDS ON THE KID. TODAY I GOT THE CHASE HIGH SCHOOL CHECKING ACCOUNT FOR THOSE 13-17. IT IS LINKED TO A PARENTS ACCOUNT. MY PACKAGE COMES WITH A VISA CHECK CARD. THERE ARE NO SERVICE FEES. ALL THE RULES APPLY WITH THIS ACCOUNT EXCEPT IF YOU OVERDRAFT IT IS TAKEN FROM YOUR PARENTS. SO BE CAREFUL. IT CONVERTS TO A FREE CHECKING ACCOUNT WHEN YOU TURN 19.
