Question:

Where can I park to commute to London?

I am going to drive down from the North to visit London. However, I would like to drive to a nearby train station and catch a train in rather than actually drive in London. Where is the best place to do this to/from? Somewhere secure preferably, I don't mind paying more for the added security.

  1. Luton Airport Parkway http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/stations/L... advertises its services for this very purpose, and is easily accessible from the M1.

  2. Birmingham?

  3. Swansea

  4. Scarborough has plenty of car parks

  5. Milton Keynes I think is probably your best choice. The station is very near the M1. But please park it on Ken Livingstone's driveway instead.

  6. Birmingham

  7. Try Warwick Parkway - good parking and a nice leasurely ride into Marlybone.  Good motorway access too.

Don't bother with Brum - no parking anywhere close to the station!!

  8. Depends where you are, but most railway car parks now have added security, cameras and security guards

  9. Doncaster has a fair few spaces most days.

  10. Brent Cross.. turn left at the bottom of the M1.. Park in the shopping centre and walk to the tube station..

  11. Reading or Guildford are good direct routes

  12. Why bother to drive down at all. Let the train take the strain, and then you won't have to worry all day as to whether or not your car is still going to be where you left it!
