Where can I purchase UK Copies of the Harry Potter Books? NOT the US Edited but the ORIGIONAL version?

I was told by a friend that lives in France and works at a book shop that she can't legally sell me copies of the British Cut of the Harry Potter Books because of international copyright and distribution rights.

She isn't coming back to the US in the foreseeable future so she can't just buy a set there and give them to me when she comes to visit.

I heard a rumor that you can get a set of the NON-AMERICAN EDIT of the series in Canada but that is a long way to go to get some books... The cost of gas alone would make it a stupid thing to do.

So do you know of an online retailer that sells the ORIGINAL UK EDIT of the series?

I don't care about hard cover or first edition or anything like that, I just want to read the ORIGINAL VERSION and see how it differs from the American Edit. (In general, when things get edited for distribution in the US, it tends to dumb it down QUITE A BIT and small changes to "Fit the Culture" can change the meaning in ways that the editors don't realize...)

I didn’t even know there was an American Edit and Original Version until after I read the series!

I’m a “I only watch SUBTITLED anime” kind of girl and editing of this sort “To fit the culture” actually offends me…

I would GREATLY appreciate it if you could link me to a reputable store, online or R.W., where I can purchase the ORIGINAL cut.
