A very very important friend is a martial-artist. He has a 1,200$ katana and last week his son somehow managed to break his wakazashi. I am not looking to pay 1,200$, or anywhere near that. I'm on sort of a budget.. maybe 150$, where can I purchase a good quality battle ready wakizashi or tanto that wont give out during rigorous use? I don't want to insult him with a bad sword. I understand the shorter swords are a bit cheaper, so it's good for me he didn't break the katana :P anyways, please help! I have this in mind. Tell me what some of you think:

I've visited the hanwei website and they seem to make pretty good swords.

  1. There is no such thing as a VERY high quality sword for $150. The best you can hope for that cheap is something that is not dangerous.

  2. I agree with Malcolm. You won't get anything of quality with a budget of $150. Hanwei is probably your best bet however.

  3. highly recommend you go to http://www.handmadesword.com

    a professional online sword seller.

Most of their swords are handmade real practical ones.

Various for choice and all are marvelous.

And their price are most reasonable, for $150 you can get a good real swords there.
