Where can I purchase adapters/converters for electronics going to be used in Ireland?

I live in KS and am heading to Ireland in Oct. Not sure where I should go to purchase the adaptors/converters for my electronic stuf.

  1. You can probably buy them at duty free in the airport.

    Irish converters are the same as used in the UK (3 pin)

    They will probably say UK converters on the packet.


  2. You won't find a converter that says "Irish" or "Ireland" on it, Ireland has the same system as the UK so look for something that says UK or Britain on it.

    Be careful though - converters let you plug your appliance into the wall, but the voltage supply is different too. Delicate equipment may require a transformer too. I used an Irish phone in LA for ten weeks, and though the supply there didn't damage it, the battery wouldn't hold the charge.

  3. You can buy them at any RadioShack Store.
