It's actually for my mom who is 63 and needs some type of insurance until she is 65 and eligible for medicare. She just retired. Does anyone know good, reasonably priced plans that she can look into? Thank you!

  1. talk to a good insurance agent.

  2. There are no good, reasonably priced plans for a 63 year old woman. She should try to get COBRA from the company she retired from or go back to work for another couple of years. Private health insurance is very expensive and any plan she could get at her age will have a very high premium, have limited benefits and have a very high deductible. Sorry, but that is the way the US healthcare system works.

  3. Try this one - http://healthplans.my-age.net - I personally have their health insurance.

As I know it is the cheapest one for my parents (59 and 62 y. o.) in our area.

  4. check this out

  5. You might have to get insurance form the state Contact DES

  6. As long as your mother is fairly healthy there are a number of affordable individual health insurance plans for her to choose from.

Be sure and choose a plan from a reputable company like a United Healthcare, Humana, Blue Cross, etc. and she will have the coverage that she needs.

  7. Unfortunately, "Laura" is correct.  Your mother is in the "gap" between having employer coverage and Medicare eligibility.

  9. There are several different insurance companies out there who have great coverage at a reasonable rate. My father took out an insurance policy with Aflac and has been very happy with the company. There was a time when he had to have surgery on his foot due to an injury and was off work for a period of time. Aflac compensated him for some of his time that he was off work. I know that you said your mother is retired, but I know that this company has taken good care of my father.

  10. Holly,

There are plenty of good plans out there and she might have quite a few options available to her.  I would highly recommend that you contact a good insurance agent and have them walk your through the process if you would like to email me I can recommend someone in your area.
