Question:

Where can I recycle unused DVD and CD cases?

Over the years, I have collected a large amount of CD/DVD cases and want to get rid of them in a way that is friendly to the environment. Can I just recycle them through my county's waste management recycling program or do I have to sent them to a specific location/company?

  1. HI!

I work in a privately owned, small, recording studio and we can always use cd and dvd cases, that are in good, working condition.  Plus, it's also nice to recycle!

    What do you think?

  2. Best bet is donate them to a local charity shop.

  3. my name is David Barber and I am looking for DVD cases you can call me and I will tell you where to send them 209-571-3283

  4. you could put then on freecycle and see if any body wants them if not put posters up on posts so people who ant got the Internet but need some CD or DVD cases they can come and get them

  5. Howdy

Well why not list them on Freecycle.org.   They have groups almost everywhere and I am sure there is a group in your area...It's a Yahoo group..You just register and you can get things for FREE that are put up in e-mails and you can offer things you want to get rid of..I have used it awhile and find it is super!!!    Wally

  6. Rubberstampers sometimes use CD cases to store and organize their unmounted rubber and clear stamps.  Some of us ( me included) would be happy to take them off your hands. :D

  7. I do recording and cd - dvd production all the time so i'm alway looking for good well working cases!

  9. I would love to have them,I don't know how many you have,But i can surely use them for when I send cd's threw Mail ,Either on eBay.Com Or craigs List That I do Sales From.

  10. Please visity www.freecycle.org - it's a wonderful organization to keep still usable items out of landfills and find new homes for them - as they say: one man's trash is another man's treasure :)

You can find a yahoo group in your area and join - it's all local.

  11. I could use the cases if they are in good condition-I have some cds/dvds that do not have covers.

  12. I am a musician. I record many of the songs that I have written  Thus I could use the cd cases for those recordings.

  13. You could post them on a trade site such as TitleTrader or something like that. Many of the people on there do not ship the CD cases or DVD cases with the disc in able to save shipping cost. In my area, I can only find the slim cases which cannot fit all the artwork or booklet in & would love to get some extra empty cases.

In the process you would earn points to get items you want---mostly books, CDs, & DVDs, & video games, but miscellanious items are listed as well.

  14. Why don't you recycle the container.  First you must remove the center post with a hacksaw.  Then put a cute sticker on the outer hole, (bottom center)  Use it upside down for odds and ends.  You can stack it upside down.
