The best place,by far,lies about thirty minutes north on the I-5 freeway.As you enter Carlsbad there will be two salt water lagoons.The second one one up rents jet-skis.Beautiful place to ride,wildlife every where with glassy waters...This place in Carlsbad is the actual birthplace(very first)of the jet ski.The inventor developed a way to intake water with and kick it out the back,due to the spinning s***w propulsion unit...tom science

depends on where your at.  coronado island?  mission bay?  o.b.?  try the nearest marina or waterfront hotel.

Walk into the lobby of any popular hotel in San Diego and you should be able to find a brochure for the Carlsbad operation, and maybe a couple of others.
