I am hoping to have anywhere from 40-60 people at my 18th birthday party. I want to rent out a room somewhere in Vancouver or Richmond. Also, I am hoping to have a DJ, so the place has to be OK with that. (aka: can't be too fancy)

  1. you could rent a room from almost everywhere. you could also try some halls.

i have done some wedding at halls for less than 100 ppls... plus they have hired catering and dj for the night.

  2. You can always rent out a community center room (i.e. steveston community center i've rented out a room at before but that was for about 200 people). I've also rented out cameo cafe on 2nd near cambie in Vancouver, we had a DJ and about 40 people, but I think the thing was that everyone had to be legal drinking age. Try calling around community centers etc, then if they say no ask where you should call.

Oh you can also try different hotels or even UBC has lots of rooms in the studen union building that they rent out.  Just keep in mind it will cost you $$.
