Where can I see profiles of people that need charity?

Is there a website/portal that features profiles of people in distress needing donations?

I am running a health centre for the elderly, housewives and the poor who always need somebody's help to reach a medical service. I provide them home medical and paramedical services at a very nominal charge far-far less than the hospital rates. I have been doing it without anybody's help but it is really very difficult to support this great cause. This charity consumes all my salary. Most people who are truly in distress, would not want their profile available on the web.  Many times the people in need are your neighbors, the person sitting next to you on the bus.  With the economy  in crisis at the moment, there are many families/people who are one pay check away from losing their home or vehicle.  Do some investigating into local charities, find one you trust and support them--then you can rest easy knowing your donation is in good hands.

I understand your concern, as I worked with inner city ministries for years and have found there are many people who fall through the cracks and those are the people I like to seek out to help.  This takes time, energy and a passion to help others.  If you're looking for an easy way to donate, this is not the solution but it is the most gratifying.

There are good and bad organizations out there, all in the name of charity.

Actually i don't know the correct web address. But i know the people. Sisters of Sacred Heart Of Jesus Having Orphanage, and mentally retarded people and old age people who have noone to care. They care all of them in various places. They know only love. They are suffer a lot to manage them. If you really want to help someone you can donate them. There are profiles of children that need to be adopted in the U.S. Many of them are disabled.

There are profiles of people who need micro-loans on the Kiva.org website.

And there are websites where people post their requests for help but they don't usually feature a profile.
