Where can I sell corn in Vermont?

I have a ten acre corn farm in northern vermont. This is my first year producing corn and I wanted to know where and to whom I could sell it. Does anybody know?

  1. There should be a local grain elevator near you that is the usual place to sell grain. You might also check to see if there Ethanol plant in your area. They would be buying corn also.


  2. 10 acre corn farm is somewhat of a contradiction in terms. One does not grow corn for sale in such small acreage. Well, one might grow sweet corn for the local retail supermarket trade.

    But one would be better to find some other crop that might have meaningful value per acre. You just can not compete with many-section intensive corn operations growing in more hospitable climates.

  3. if it's cow corn there are enough farms in vt i'm sure you could find some farm that could use it and if it's sweet corn you could sell it to a grocery store or something, people are all excited over local foods now i'm sure they'd rather have your corn than some corn from mexico.

  4. Look for a hog farmer nearby.Or a feed mill(unless you grind it yourself.If you can;t find a rancher nearby.Whynot grind and feed to a pig then sell the pig(corn on the hoof.
