Hello

I heard of someone who sold there photographs over the Internet, not on gettyimages or shutterstock, they claimed to have sold the photo with all exclusive rights and ownership etc. Is this possible? and If so where can I find out more detail.

  1. umm what kind of photographs?

  2. Most will charge you to subscribe to the service, fix the selling price or take a percentage of the sale. The last thing you want to do is give up your copyright because then someone can use your images over and over again without you getting anything back each time they're used.

Try - http://www.redbubble.com  Not only is it free to use but also you set the price and you keep ownership and copyright of your images.

  3. When you sell your photos on stock sites - be they microstock or larger agencies (getty, alamy etc) you are NOT selling your copyright.

What you are selling is a license for the purchasers to use the photo.

If you sell RF (royalty free) again you are not selling copyright you are however giving whoever purchases the right to use the photo as many times and in whatever way they want.

You still have the right (as copyright holder) to sell to others etc etc.

You can if you want sell (assign) the copyright to someone else but you would be a fool to do so as you would no longer have any rights over the photo.
