I have a major collection of books to get rid of they are ALL in GREAT condition, but I need to sell them and I dont want to host a garage sale because it will be a waste of my time. Plus, no one really comes out to garage sales in my area. Help! Thanks in advance!

  1. Sometimes used book stores will give you a credit for them, but they won't actually give you money  for them. They will only take what they want too not all you have.

I myself cleared out our book collection a few months ago. I had around 200+ books on many different subjects fiction and non fiction. They were all like new. They took about 20 of them as they only like to have one copy in stock unless it's something very popular. The rest I gave to Goodwill to sell.

Next time we clear out I will just go right to Goodwill. I had to wait a good 2 hours for the used book store to go through what I had only to have to find somewhere else for them to go when I was done.

At least at Goodwill they will go to help a good cause. At the used book store I just got credit to get more books. They had nothing I wanted anyway and have not had anything each time I have been back. I could have saved time by not even bothering to go there.

If you really want to try to get cash for them the only option is to have a garage sale maybe at a friend or relatives place where they are more popular. You may sell a few of them that way.

  2. Call a used book store, maybe they'll buy them.
