Question:

Where can I send/donate old textbooks?

I have a bunch of recent (within the last five years) but worthless in terms of resale/storage value textbooks. Are there any charities/prisons/other organizations that I can send (Mail) them into? I don't really want to just drop them off at the thrift store for hipsters to cut 'em apart for mix CD collages. These are valuable books in content and someone who can use them should be able to receive them!

  1. You can donate to better world books. They'll give you a free shipping label and they'll donate the books to third world countries in need of books.

Check out more info here: http://www.bigwords.com/book/index.php?z...

  2. Give them to some needy people.  Start with your family members, neighbors, or donate them to a local school.  Thank you for doing that.

  3. Ask your local public and/or university library, literacy programs. Specify the genre; some charter schools may accept them, G.E.D.programs, people who do tutoring, you could possibly post what youre willing to donate at the libraries. There are always students who need textbooks but can't afford them,  post whatcha got on the student center bulletin boards. Hey, you could even set up an exchange program...
