I live in Pennsylvania and it's like 90 degress. Snowboarding is my favorite thing to do and I get a vacation as a college graduation gift. The only time i can make the trip would be later september-early october. Does anyone know what mountains or ski areas have snow and are open that time of the year in the USA or prefably Canada? I looked but it looks like everything is closed..

  1. Last year the COLORADO'S ARAPAHOE BASIN opened it's ski season on Oct. 10th, the earliest in North America. It was the second consecutive year that they had the earliest opening. They probably have the best shot.

  2. Whister/Blackcomb about 1.5 hrs north of Vancouver BC has some openings in mid-Oct but not full bore by Nov,27th and multi-metre depths by december.

Banff, Alberta also has some very early openings.

Sunshine Village but not year round

if you do come up this way think about Kootenays too (Golden BC ) and Big White in Kelowna) in BC .. theres some new big vertical hills opening in that area and not the crowds, cost or expenses of whistler
