  2. Well, since your inspection has been expired for more than 60 days, you'll have to pay the ticket.  No way out of that.  If it had only been expired for 60 days or less, you could go get it inspected and get the ticket dismissed.  Too late for that now, though.  Live and learn.

As for the inspection, just drive around and look for mechanic shops that have a "state inspection here" banner or sign in their window.  I usually go to someplace like Kwik Kar.  The fee is set by the state, and should be same wherever you go to have it done.  Fee varies slightly (from $14.50-$39.75)  depending on the model year of the vehicle (cheaper for older cars...less rigorous emissions inspection is required) and where you live (if you live in a rural county, you might be exempt from emissions testing which is the most expensive part of the inspection).  If your vehicle fails the inspection, you have 15 days to get the problem fixed, and you can get it re-inspected at no additional cost.  If you live in a city, expect to pay $39.75.

You must show valid proof of minimum required liability insurance to get the car inspected.  All stickers are good for one year from the date of inspection.
