Where can I take my fiance' to a nice inexpensive steakhouse in the L.A and/ or South Bay Area?

Right now, Ruth's Chris Steakhouse is having an excellent deal.  Their Summer Celebration deal is $89 for a 3-course meal for 2 persons.

BOA Steakhouse in West Hollywood is having a similar promotion for a limited time: Their Infinite Meal Deal $88.08 for a 4-course meal for 2 persons for 88 days (ends Oct. 3rd).

Finally, the Porterhouse Bisto has a prix fixe menu offering a 4-course meal and 2 beverages at $43.20 per person.

The Porterhouse Bistro offers the most bang for the buck because it includes beverages (including house wines or house brand cocktails), but their steaks are only USDA Choice (not USDA Prime), so you'll get a less flavorful and tender piece of beef, but it's still pretty good.

Inexpensive? You could go to Denny's...they have good steak dinners.

or, how about Outback Steak House.  The service can be good too.  If you have a "Claim Jumper" around you...GO! you'll be guaranteed to take enough home for a 2nd dinner.   I'd stay away from Cattleman's (too expensive and the diners are a bit on the 40s to 50s crowd.  Same thing for "HUNTERS" (used to be Hungry Hunter)---guaranteed good steaks...but guaranteed high prices too!  

There may be some places (like hole-in-the-wall-places) where you can enjoy a steak VERY reasonable, that's not a chain! --Ask around where you live; like ask retail clerks, baristas, etc.
