I am looking for a unique place, something chilled - not too busy/clubby that we can go for drinks with our friends. I originally looked at The Bar in the Courthouse Kempinski hotel which was an old prision so you can rent out the old cells but you can only hire out an area for 8 people and I don't really want to break up the group...thanks in advance for any suggestions!

  1. Hubby and myself went on a Jazz cruise with dinner on the Thames 'Symphony' was the name of the boat, Brilliant. X They can do tables that cater about what you are looking for. x

  2. You can now hire out the top of the Gherkin building, but I think its pretty pricey. I went to a drinks do there and the views are absolutely amazing.

You can also have drinks at the top of Tower 42, the OXO tower, hire a pod on the London Eye or my favourite, you can hire out an area of Hush in Lancashire Court just off Bond St in the west end. Its owned by Roger Moore's son and is such a cool venue.

  3. The vault room at The Revolution is a little different.

  4. Go to Covent Garden.

  5. How about champagne on the London Eye - take a look at the website?  Hope you manage to find somewhere.

  6. ANYWHERE around Covent garden?

  7. How about the Trafalgar in Greenwich?  You can book a table there, eat, looks over the river and very historic.  It's a great pub.  Then the world is your Oyster in Greenwich.  You can take the river cruise up to central London which is lovely or explore Greenwich park, observatory (you can give your husband a kiss over the 0 meridian line, giving him a kiss in two time zones!) and/or the many bars and restaurants.  If you make a day of it and go early afternoon, the markets are good too.

Take a look at the web-site.  My husband took me there last night for my birthday and it was phenomenal!  The photographs don't do the place justice.  It's exotic and yet low-keyed.  There is entertainment which circulates around the upstairs bar area as well as the downstairs diners.

If you go together just to dine, reserve a booth - ask for the one under the stairs - it's very intimate.

    Cheers
