I am still dubious about these electric bikes but would love to find out for myself if they are any good - with a view to getting one for my dad. He has arthritus in his knees & struggles a bit cycling up hill to his allotment everyday.

Any one know of any bike shows coming up in the Chesterfield / Midlands area

thanks

Gareth

  1. Birmingham phone 0121248733,!

                                   No I don't work there.

I have a car, when I finally dump the car (wont be long now), I'm going to buy one of these things, big basket on the front for shopping.

I've seen an old feller using one of these , he sits on the seat doing nothing at all, the bike does about 15 mph, he looks as proud as punch, its a great gadget. I spoke to him about up hill, he said it just slows down a bit, but he doesn't have to peddle at all.

I don't know about the price, but I'm going for it.

The guy I see doesn't have a helmet on, so I assume they are not legally required?

Give that number a ring, check it out.

Located at Long Eaton, I think, near Nottingham.  They seem to have a good selection to choose from.  Otherwise, Google 'electric bikes'.

  3. BE sure to try the Giant Twist.  We just got them in the USA and they are supposed to be the same as he UK version.  It tested real good for range and hill climbing, you have a 15mph top speed.

Check out A to B magazine, they test out all this stuff.
