Question:

Where can I throw a birthday party in Downtown Toronto?

It's my birthday soon, I'm turning 20.

Legal age in Ontario is 19, but I don't drink, but some of my guests do.

I'm thinking of spending it at a lounge where there's dinner and dancing...

HOWEVER, where are good places that people don't get carded OR you're allowed in but you can't drink, because one of my guests (the most important one) is only 18...

I'm new to the city and completely stumped as to what to do?

Thanks everyone!

  1. Check on http://toronto.com/restaurants -  they have a huge listing...it also depends on how much you want to spend too...

    You can also check http://www.dine.to/

    or there's http://toronto.diningoutonline.com/

But my fav for stuff like this however, is a little Italian place in Little Italy called Vecchio Frak - they have these awesome "exotic drinks" that DEFINITELY are conversation starters - there are both alcoholic and non alcoholic.

You can book the couches so that you have lounge space.

The food is awesome and it's a nice casual laid back atmosphere.

They have an AWESOME tiramisu in both alcoholic and non-alcoholic versions!

    Here's their website:  www. vecchiofrak.com

  2. Try Dave and Busters.  It's pretty cool.  They're are pool tables, video games (for adults), etc. They have a bar section that doesn't usually id people.

  3. Ask locally, because Toronto is a huge place. Somewhere close to your home is good and then cab fares won't be prohibitive.

    The Muse

  4. I like karaoke... cheesy I know. But the Fox and the Fiddle on Bloor Street West (closest to St George Subway Station)

if you get in early enough your friends won't be carded... there isn't dancing but on Saturday night... the karaoke DJ is a riot... I mean he's really really mean to people... soooo funny!

  5. Try some of these - you did not mention size of party and expected cost per pserson.

  6. you should try foundation room

it's really nice in there and they also have a club i think

    and it's at front street.

Food is not too expensive and the atmosphere is unique...

  7. I don't know Toronto that well, but how about the Spaghetti Factory or Jack Astor's (both downtown near Front St.).  They have big menus, not too expensive and you can order drinks if you want, but they are restaurants not bars, so you won't really be carded.  also, quite a nice atmosphere.

  8. go to a club!

    theres tons downtown.
