Question:

Where can I trade in large amounts of coins without penalty?

I have been depositing $3.00 worth of coins every time I go to the bank (every other week) but now my coin supply keeps growing. Instead of wasting my time counting it out (and again with the bank teller), where can I exchange tons of coinage?

I'm looking for the Coinstar or similar service, but with no fees (I believe coinstar is 7% or so). Any large banks or supermarket chains, etc. offer this?

Thanks for your help.

  1. Alot of banks now have a large automated coin counter that is a free service because of the quantity of loose change that is deposited by small local companies.  Although your bank doesn't have this check around at some other banks that's how I found one. good luck hope this helps

  2. I dont think there any free coin counting machines. If you have your own bank account they should have a free service, I take between 100.00 to 250.00 dollars of coins to my bank every month or two and they have there own coin counter and it is free of charge. I HOPE THIS HELPED YOU.
