  1. get in touch with schools like BSM and AA - they should have simulators you can try.

Other thing - are you learning or have you already passed your test?  What is it that scares you about driving?

  2. best thing to do is phone up a driving school and ask them. they will only take you out on very quiet roads. afraid you just have to  face your fear and go for it

  3. the arcade - Ferrari f355 challenge !

  4. Try B.S.M i have seen they have them but do not know where.

Why not book a few lessons with a driving instructor, some will be understanding and they can help a lot more than a simulater and they can control the car in any emrgancy with dual controls.

  5. I can't speak from experience in terms of being a nervous driver, however, I can tell you there is a vast difference between a driver's ed type school and a advanced defensive driving school.

The defensive driving school will put you in enough extreme conditions in a safe environment that I would think they could only improve your confidence out on the regular road.

The other benefit is, the tone of these classes are more "it's fun to drive" than the "let's watch another Blood on the Highway movie to scare the kids" that I've found in driver's ed.

  6. Try Gran Turismo 4.It even has driving tests and over 700 cars of almost all makes

  7. Try BSM. But don't use them for lessons, use a local independent, better results.

  8. Simulators will do nothing to help conquer a fear of driving - not least of all because they have nothing like the feel of a real car, whatever you may be told. The only way to help your fear is to find a really good, very patient instructor who will take you somewhere very quiet (preferably private land) and give you the confidence that everything will be taken at YOUR pace.

An automatic may also help you a lot.
