Where can I visit within a three hour drive from Stuttgart germany?

we're looking for a weekend trip from Stuttgart.

By a three hour drive you can reach hundreds of interesting places. You should specify what you're most interested in: castles, cathedrals, museums, galleries, nature, roman relics, festivals, amusement parks, ...

Very (if not most) impressive might be Heidelberg - look at http://www.heidelberg.de (also in english).

The medieval town of Rothenburg is a nice place, but also cities like Nuremberg, Munich, Frankfurt, Mainz, Freiburg, Basel, Ulm, and Augsburg are within reach.

The Black Forrest region, the Alps. Visit  Ulm, Germany and see the worlds tallest Church steeple and the birthplace of Albert Einstein.

there is so much to see: Heidelberg, which is beautiful. Trier is also very nice, there are many wineyards in this area and the Rhein...take a tour on a boat down the river, u will love it, plus Koblenz and Freiberg, Trieberg (sp?)-- this is the Black Forest area, its wonderful. Lots of waterfalls and nature hikes.

Since Stuttgart is in the South of Germany you will be able to go to Switzerland and also France if you want to check out different European cultures apart form Germany. A very nice Swiss city would be Basel which is just across the border (you have to try Swiss chocolate, hmmmm). If you want to go to France you can go to Strasbourg or Colmar.

Both Switzerland and France have many things to see.

A very nice Swiss spot is the Rheinfall of Schaffhausen. It is a waterfall in the Rhine River (the biggest one in Europe). If you go to France a beautiful place is Riquewihr, they have storks there.
