Is there a way to watch episodes of American television series dubbed in German like you can on American network websites (e.g. nbc.com)

I don't know about that. You can watch news online. Or you could subsribe to onlinetvrecorder.com. There you can tape online all German tv programs. The download is a little complicated, but it's free. There you'll of course could get American TV series in German.

buy the series on dvd and change the language into german. bevore you buy it -read on the back if german language is available or not.

You can watch German news and TV series free of charge at any time; just check out www.daserste.de or www.tagesschau.de (the daily news). You can watch an original German TV soap called Lindenstraße at www.lindenstrasse.de, also no registering, no charge. (We pay for that with our taxes.) But dubbed series, I must apologize: no way. US entertainment companies have their copyright claims on them, and the dubbed versions are licensed for TV broadcast only. You can buy the DVDs from amazon or other DVD stores, however. Just look at the language details to find the right one.
