Where can a 13 yr. old girl get a job in Cincinnati, OH?

im 13 and my parents said i need to work for money to buy stuff such a clothes or the movies. so i wanted to know if there were any job ideas for me or if you knew a place that hired 13 yr. olds in the Cincinnati area.

Do you really need all that stuff you want to buy anyway?  I lived in a small town growing up, and we didnt have a ton of stuff or go to the movies a whole lot, but we did do a lot of stuff with our friends that didnt cost anything.  And I wouldnt trade any of that for time spent working some crappy butt job.  You've got your whole life to work, and when you dont have the choice but to work, you'll wish you didnt have to work so much anymore.  Believe me, I know.

That being said, you cant legally work.  So you have to do little one-off jobs for neighbors, people at church, that kind of thing.  You could do any of these things: babysitting, car washing, lawn mowing, pet sitting, pet walking, house sitting, pool cleaning, or yardwork.

I hope your parents at least cover an occasional movie and a normal amount of clothes for you, if they do, I dont blame them for their request.  If they want you to basically pay your own way at your age, thats pretty lame on their part.

I don't think 13 is too young to start working for spending money.  In my opinion, it's never too early to start learning the value of money and earning it.

Babysitting is probably the most common job for girls your age.  You could probably also do some dog-walking or feeding.  You might want to approach some neighbors with dogs.

For babysitting, the best way to get jobs is through references.  If any of your friends babysit, let them know that you are willing too, and if they are too busy to take a job, they can recommend you.

try baby sitting. It is about the only thing....unless you like to mow yards or do garden work better. Take an make you an ad. Place it all over town in grocery stores ect... People will call if they need work done.

I cant believe your parents are telling you to get a job at 13. You cant get a actual job at that age, and even if you could you shouldnt. You are too young to worry about the hassles of a job, you should be more worried about having fun and being a kid.

Only suggestions i have for you are the standard babysitting or mowing grass kind of thing. Or maybe start a dog walking/grooming service. Walk and bath peoples doggies. Do you know any elderly people? Maybe they will hire you to do some stuff for them such as their laundry or whatever.

But as far as stores or restaurants or whatever, they wont hire a 13 year old because its ILLEGAL. We have child labor laws in this country to keep things like that from happening.
