Where can a AAS in Social Work get you?

  1. There really is no such thing as an AA in social work.  The BSW is the entry level professional degree in social work and the MSW is really the first full professional degree in the profession.

    If a CC is providing something that is called an AA in social work (and I believe some do).  It basically qualifies you to go on and get your BSW or maybe be an assistant in some human service organizations.

  2. You have to have a BSW or an MSW and, in my state for the BSW you have to have 100 praticum hours, and 500 for the MSW ..

  3. More than just a high school diploma.  But if you really want to go on in social work, you really need a bachelor's degree, or better yet a MSW.  Jobs in social work will never go away...unfortunately they don't pay much, and the case load is high.  It can be very rewarding work though.
