Where can a grandparent obtain a free car seat?

I am a grandparent who is looking for a car seat for my beautiful 2 year old granddaughter

Have you tried craigslist?

And if you are driving around with your granddaughter a lot, maybe you should just invest in a good car seat.

She is too precious to not to invest in one.

Local health departments often have vouchers where you can get a free carseat if you're the caregiver of a small child. In my town you can take the voucher to either Target or Kmart and you get up to $65 for the right-sized carseat. There are also several community organizations that make them available, including free clinics, the Salvation Army (though most of theirs are donated used ones through their thrift stores), and the Jewish Federation.

You won't like the free ones, there real cheap. I got one I wouldn't put my cat in, let alone my granddaughter. So I went down and bought a good one that I fill she will be real safe in. You wouldn't want to say after something happens that you wish you had gotten a better one.

Wal-Mart, Target, Sears, or, any store that sell car seats.

Try freecycle.org and enter your city and state. It's made up of people who want to keep things out of the landfills instead of being a throwaway society. It's countrywide and everything is free. You just have to pick it up.

P.S. Most kids items are practically new since they are used for such a short time.

I have went and got most of my stuff for my grandchildren Garage Saleing ..

I just bought a double stroller, brand new, barely used

$259.00 a Babies R US, at a sale for $50.00 That was my deal of the year!

I have bought Swings, Hi Chairs, Playpen, Strollers,

all kinds of stuff for grandmas house for a few dollars at garage sales, most stuff is barely or sparsely used...
