  1. I can't add to much to the previous answers but you can also contact a local APA pool league operator and ask them if they have a Junior Division that you can play in. If they don't, they just might let you play in the open division. The league is very big on promoting the game to ALL ages.

  2. From my experience, as long as you conduct yourself well, you can play in most any pool hall. I played in pool halls when I was just 12. I never had any problems. A long time has passed since then and times have changed, so it may be best to call first and ask.

Bars DO have rules and laws regarding minors, however. In some cases, if you're accompanied by an adult, you can play pool as long as you are not sitting at the bar. If the bar has a restaurant, you should be allowed to play.

Rules do vary from state to state. If you're apprehensive, you can call the establishment and tell them your age, and ask if you can come in to just play pool. Let them know that you're young but you're a serious pool player. If they won't allow you to play, ask if he/she knows of a place where you can play pool.

Try a Bowling Alley --- many have pool tables.

    Keep on shooting!

  3. A lot of pool halls are open to all ages. I second loriann's suggestion of calling up halls to find out. Some might have age restrictions only at certain hours too.

Bowling alleys are also a good place to check as are local youth clubs like the YMCA or Boys and Girls Clubs. Pool is not just an adult game and it's too bad that a lot of young people think they can't play just because of their age.
