Help! Due to work restrictions, we have only a week in July to go on holiday. We have budgeted around £300 for accommodation - can you think of anything/anywhere in the UK (south) that we can go? We have two small children (3 years and 8 months respectively).

  1. I'm with Carina on this one. There is a Travel lodge in St Austell Cornwall, which is central for all area's of Cornwall. "Ben's playworld" Porfell animal park, Newquay zoo, and many gorgeous beaches are nearby.

I would gladly put you up in my bungalow in gorgeous Lerryn, but sadly we only have 1 bedroom. I'll have a poke around on the internet, and see what I can come up with.

Have a look at this website, and click onto Polruan Cottages, and go into "table of contents" there are one or two cottages available in July for around £300 for a week.

Polruan is a really gorgeous tiny fishing village, with 2 small beaches, and lovely places to visit nearby too. Have a look at "Lilac cottage" £317-00 for the week, bargain!!!(also"Midships" for under £300) I lived in Polruan for 7 years, and it's a fabulous little village, the link will show you everything about it.Have fun, wherever you end up!!!

  2. have you checked out what's available at Travelodge ... you only need one family room and the cost could be anything from £40-£70 a night or so ... especially if you're going midweek you might be able to find something ... just don't plan to eat breakfast there, it's too expensive and not particularly nice ... you get a kettle in the room, so take maybe some breakfast cereal and buy some milk, have a quick snack in the room then jump in the car and go find yourself a greasy spoon in a nearby town and have a full English
