  1. I can't speak for Seattle, but as for Vancouver, most of the hostels and cheap hotels are located in the notoriously S****y DTES.  LOTS of crime, lots of drugs, lots of prostitution, lots of noise.  I've been mugged there, my friends have been mugged there, and my girlfriend has been mugged there, and I know I would slap any parent who let their 14 year old wander around there on their own.  You're better off knowing somebody.

  2. A hotel or maybe a youth group. Sometimes youth groups have overnight camping.  But I'd suggest a friends house.

  3. a hostel. Go to their Website, im know there's at least 1 in vancouver.

  4. Camp out, Bring a hammock or a tent.  It's very easy to find a spot in washington even near seattle that you can set up camp.  Don't waste money at a hostel or hotel.  There is always www.couchsurfing.com you can choose who you stay with, check it out.

  5. Would it be helpful to know about youth shelters?  Let me know and I can write you back with some.
