My girlfriend and I have been going out for a long time now, we both really love each other and we both really want to marry each other but niether of our parents approve. We have tried our best to just deal with how our parents are being but now we cant take it no more so we are looking for a place to get married. Since we are both underage the only way we can leave is if we get married.

If anyone has any suggestions I would greatly appriciate it.

Thank you

  1. Well you can make a vow to each other and when your old enough you can do the real deal

  2. Doesn't matter if you are the same s*x or of the opposite s*x, if you aren't 18 you can't get married without your parents permission.

Do you have a problem waiting until you grow up, before you live the life of an adult?

If you think being a kid is hard, wait until you are an adult, then you will really know what hard times are.

  3. Two things have to happen for you to be able to marry.

    1.  You must obtain your license and marry in a state where same-s*x marriage is legal.

    2.  You must have parental consent if you are under the age of 18.

There is no way around either of these.

ETA:  Your only other choice would be if you can find an attorney who will represent you in a case to be legally emancipated from your parents.  To do this you must be able to prove that you have the means to support yourself without any outside assistance.  This includes housing, food, transportation, etc.  If you are legally emancipated, #2 above will no longer apply but #1 will still apply.  Keep in mind that if you are legally emancipated, your  parents are no longer legally obligated to assist you in any way, financial or otherwise.

MA and CA both recognize same s*x marriages as legal.

CT, VT, NH and NJ offer legal unions that are not technically called "marriages" but that do offer all of the same rights associated with marriage.

  4. Your parents are trying to save you both much misery and heartache.  Stay in school and in time you will reach legal age.  Your same s*x relationship is not the root issue.  Don't play the g*y card on this, your parents care about your future in more ways than you seem to realize.  If things are totally chaotic then look into the "emancipation of a teen" process for your state.  Once emancipated you can go to Massachusetts or California and wed.  I hope this helps.

  5. No where in the United States....
