Where can children volunteer?

I am 12-years-old and I would love to do some voulenteer work. I live in IL and am very mature and would be open to any sigestions. Does anybody have any ideas? Thanks!

  1. Contact your local Kiwanis Club.  The Kiwanis welcomes students to volunteer with various activities.  We have the Key Club, which is specifically for students.

    You can also check out the website www.acresofhope.org and collect things that they need...

  3. Start a drive and deliver the items to a local charity that serves children and families in need or your local Department of Human Services.

    You can do a drive for almost anything, depending on the time of the year.  Do a couple of drives a year.  Right now I am doing one for - baby bottles.  

    Other Drive Ideas:

    Diapers

    School Supplies

    Clothing

    Shoes

    Mittens and Gloves
